Manitoba Education has revised the K-8 math curriculum.  Some of the changes, which will take effect September, 2013, are as follows:

• a requirement for memorization of times tables has been added,
• all four standard algorithms for addition, subtraction, multiplication and long division have been added,
• statements regarding the appropriate use of technology have been added.

We see this as a positive first step and will provide further comments on the changes soon.
